The first upgrades that Dick Pierson did on the Cuda was the same that was done by Chrysler France when they took delivery of the Group 1 racing Hemis: get rid of the Dana 60 and replace it with a pumpkin type axle. Why? Well, if you ever tried to lift a Dana 60, you'll know why!
One other advantage of using a race type live axle similar to what we have in the Olympia Charger is that we can also fit the 12 inch rotors as allowed by the FIA homologation. The axle shafts are of the floating type, which combined with Grand National hubs gives us extra safety for racing on the track.
Out went the Dana.....
.... and in came the Grand National 9 inch!
